Nia DaCosta To Direct Captain Marvel Sequel

by Jarod Baughman-Stubbs

According to an exclusive from Deadline, director Nia DaCosta is going to be in the director's chair for the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel.

DaCosta's previous work include writing, directing, and acting in the short film The Black Girl Dies Last, writing and directing for Little Woods, directing episodes of Top Boy, and is a co-writer and director for the upcoming Candyman reboot.

The onboarding of DaCosta is another big win in the realm of diversifying the director base in Hollywood with most of the upcoming films in Phase 4 of the MCU being helmed by women and people of color.

Marvel has no comment at this time.
